Litigation Director

Compensation: $85,000-105,000


Diverse Talent has partnered with Colorado Center on Law and Policy, in search of a

Litigation Director. Colorado Center on Law and Policy (CCLP) is a non-partisan, nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to the vision that every Coloradan should have what they need to succeed. For 25 years CCLP has stood with diverse communities across Colorado in the fight against poverty through research, legislation, and legal advocacy.


The Litigation Director will advance CCLP’s mission, working closely with policy staff and external partners to strengthen and enforce legal protections for Coloradans facing poverty. The Director will play a lead role in refining CCLP’s litigation agenda, utilizing a range of legal strategies to advance policy and cultivating relationships with nonprofit and pro bono partners. The Director reports to the Deputy Director and is an integral part of the policy team.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A J.D. from an accredited law school and license to practice law in Colorado, and a minimum of six (6) years practicing law. Experience in legal services or civil rights litigation preferred.
  • Knowledge of communities served and must embrace social and economic justice issues and the mission of Colorado Center on Law and Policy, including its commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and equity.
  • Excellent writing and legal research skills, and the ability to take initiative, collaborate closely with internal and external partners, plan to meet deadlines, and seek advice and guidance as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple issues and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in staff supervision, or aptitude for and willingness to learn the necessary supervision skills.
  • Policy advocacy with state or federal administrative agencies or legislative bodies preferred.
  • Language skills valued, particularly Spanish-language fluency.
