Outage Coordination Engineer - Staff, Senior, or Principal Private

Location: Golden, CO

Salary: $76,000-145,332


Position Responsibilities

  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has a higher level understanding of the basic principals of other related disciplines.
  • Fully demonstrates the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level by applying advanced technical principles, theories and concepts, and contributes to the development of new principles, concepts and technical standards.
  • Fully demonstrates unique technical skills.
  • As a recognized internal technical SME, conceives plans and conducts research to develop procedures, codes and standards in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity and supports the development of technical documentation through a series of complex and conceptually related studies requiring unconventional or innovative approaches.
  • Exercises authority and technical leadership on assignments that are often self-initiated and self-directed.
  • Assignments are strategic and have significant long-term implications to achievement of overall business objectives.
  • May lead multiple critical and/or complex projects including research, design, equipment specification & selection, installation, start-up, commissioning and evaluation of work progress and results.

Director of Gas Integrity Management Programs

Location: Denver, CO/St. Paul, MN

Salary: $136,000-192,666


Position Responsibilities

  • Provide the strategic leadership and direction for gas distribution & transmission integrity programs encompassing multiple states, regions & diverse system operating conditions.
  • Responsible for the effective & efficient utilization of resources with emphasis on safety, cost reduction/control, reliability & compliance with regulations.
  • Develops, approves & manages annual & long-term expense & capital financial resource budgets.
  • Develops & recommends regulatory strategy to ensure recovery of capital and expenses of program.
  • Responsible for efficient and effective delivery of comprehensive pipeline integrity activities and programs, including risk strategy, assessment strategy, project schedules, overall budget, forecasts and management reports.
  • Responsible for managing the gas Integrity Programs for multiple states in accordance with DOT regulations and Company written plan.
  • Responsible for ensuring the maintenance of adequate and accurate records/documents. Represent Company during Federal and State compliance audits of programs.
  • Provide direction and leadership to assure the services provided satisfy the financial and regulatory compliance needs of the company, regulatory agencies, customers, and shareholders.
  • Applies industry and Xcel Energy best practices, competencies and success factors to establish performance expectations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Represent Xcel Energy and its Operating Companies in FERC rate filings, transactional regulatory approvals, tariff amendments, market based rate matters, FERC rulemakings, and Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) proceedings.
  • Advise Xcel Energy and its Operating Companies in FERC compliance matters, including transmission matters, wholesale production matters, and corporate affiliation rules.
  • Represent Xcel Energy in FERC electric litigation, including section 205 and 206 proceedings under the Federal Power Act, and including matters involving Xcel Energy's operating companies both inside and outside of RTOs.
  • Represent Xcel Energy in federal appellate proceedings involving FERC decisions.
  • Represent Xcel Energy in FERC enforcement proceedings.
